Curtis Frank

There was no truth to the tale, most frequently passed as honest currency among the young and romantically inclined, that Curtis Frank had disappeared while drawing to an inside straight.  His year’s absence from society had not one thing to do with the intervention of beings from outside this realm, and everything to do with the laws and justices of this untapped land.  One look at the man would have told any but the most starry eyed, dewy cheeked innocent, any soul with a quarter lifetime’s experience that Mrs Frank’s gambling son had spent some months at hard labor.
